Amos Lee Concert

Bj and I had a FABULOUS time on Saturday night. We have been huge fans of Amos Lee (native of Philly) for quite some time. We were quite jazzed when we found out that he was coming to Raleigh - we booked tickets immediately. I hadn't felt too well Saturday morning and I just prayed that I would feel "normal" later that night because I wanted a date night!!!! Luckily, I did start feeling much better by the time we left that night (thanks baby!). BJ and I had a great dinner at this Irish Pub in downtown Raleigh and then headed to a smaller venue to hear Amos Lee. He was everything I had anticipated - and more!! His voice was beautiful and he played all of our favorite songs. We had so much fun that night - probably the best night we've had since we moved here. If anyone would like to hear Amos Lee - check him out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bmyq7JgdeM4 - it our favorite song "Arms of a Woman".

Baby's Heartbeat

Today I had my 2nd visit to the ObGyn - it was a great visit. The nurse told me that we were going to attempt to listen to the heatbeat on the doppler - but not to get my hopes up because sometimes it couldn't be heard until 12 weeks. I was very excited when, after a few attempts, I heard the baby's heartbeat!!! It was 154 beats per minute- which the nurse said was very healthy. Everything seems to be moving along as planned. I have actually felt more "normal" the last few days - so hopefully the "all day" sickness is starting to disappear. I just want to be able to feel good and actually enjoy being pregnant!! I think BJ would enjoy that, too :)

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!

Finally some big news on this blog!!!! - BJ and I went to the doctor last Thursday and confirmed that we are 2 months pregnant! We were able to see the little heartbeat beating at 174 beats per minute!!! They said the due date is Memorial Day - which is May 25, 2009. We were given some little ultrasound pictures which I promise I will post soon.

I am feeling pretty good so far - just the usual crabbiness, lethargy, nausea, etc :) I am sure we all all ready for this first trimester to end - only 4 more weeks!

My next doctor's appointment is Oct 30th - just a regular check-up with the OBGYN. So, keep us in your prayers - hopefully everything will be smooth sailing from here on out!

Happy Birthday and Happy September!

Haven't been writing too much on this blog - sorry! Today is BJ's birthday - he definitely has been showered with gifts today: Shlafley's homemade bread pudding from St. Louis, Boulevard wheat beer/Shlafley beer/Fat Tire beer/, a new softball bag, and a Cardinals fleece. We are going to Mama Dip's in Chapel Hill tonight for dinner - supposed to have some excellent "down-home" Southern cookin'.

This summer has definitely flown by. We visited Ben Houston (Bj's cousin) and his lovely family a few weeks ago at Topsail Beach - it was wonderful to just sit on the beach and relax. Blue, our dog, came along and experienced the beach for the first time. He had a blast and I was surprised that he went straight for the water. He had fun at night trying to chase the little crabs. Ben came and stayed with us for a week at Labor Day. It was so nice to finally have company!

BJ started doing weekend work at a small hospital in Ahoskie, NC. He doesn't even have cell phone service! The place is 2 1/2 hrs away, so I am left behind :( So anyone who wants to come and visit - please do!!!!

We are definitely looking forward to the Fall weather which brings cooler weather. Hopefully we will have some more visitors and get used to Durham a little more.

This coming weekend, Andrea is off to St. Louis to hang out with family and friends. BJ is going to Pittsburgh for a "bachelor party" and to see the St. Louis Cardinals play the Pirates.

Miss you all! Love you!

Off to Paris!!!!

Yay! We are off to Paris on this Friday. BJ has a medical conference in Versailles and Andrea decided to tag along for the weekend. Too bad its only for 2 1/2 days - but that should be plenty of time to see the main sites. Andrea comes back to Durham, NC on Tuesday night to get back to work by Wednesday a.m.- BJ gets to hang out to be wined and dined till Friday :) Ahhhh - the life of a surgeon.....

Our Durham Home

We've been in Durham for about 2 weeks now - still putting away boxes and trying to settle in. We really like our rental home - lots of big windows to let in sunlight and nice hardwood floors. Our dog, Blue, loves the fact that he has a big backyard to run around and check out the activity in the neighborhood.
