Happy St. Patrick's Day!

BJ and I love St. Patrick's Day. It was a gorgeous Saturday and the St. Patty's Parade was happening in Raleigh, NC. We all had a TON of fun! We decked out in green, watched a very entertaining parade, and then shared a few brews with our friends at the festivities. Addie loved all the events of the day and was a big hit with everyone!

Play Date!

Addie and Henry were born on the same day!!! We have play dates every month and it is very cute to see how they interact with each other. Since I never observe Addie at daycare with the other babies - I really enjoy seeing her with another baby. I must say that I am pleased to know that she already knows how to share toys!

New Jersey bound!

BJ finally made the big decision and we will be moving to northern New Jersey in July. We will be about 20 minutes from New York City and we definitely have a lot of options on the weekends!!! Although I am not looking forward to packing up and moving with an active 1 year old - it should be an interesting journey. Addie has already started on her resume to Princeton - she has big dreams - I can tell that girl is going somewhere!!!!

Some odds and ends...

So far its been a great month. The weather here in NC has been beautiful and the flowers are blooming. Addie is looking more like a toddler and imitating everything that we say and do. Today her words were "bubba" for "bubbles" and some very close version of "jello" at dinnertime. She is such fun and she loves when we read her favorite books....over and over again.... :)

The joys of eating....

Its been about a month now since Addie decided that she was over baby food and ready for table food. It's been a messy ride, but very fun to make "creations" for Addie and watch her pile it into her mouth. She is very good at her pincer grasp and loves feeding herself. Her favorites are lasagna, blueberries, strawberries, yogurt, and mashed potatoes. And she goes nuts for these flavored puffs that come in a can! Needless to say, we head for the bath after dinner!

Riding around

Addie really likes her hippo car. Although she can't push it around yet. She loves when we push her around the house and make car noises! Oh - and she likes chasing Blue around the house, too.

Bath Time in the BIG tub

Addie is such a hoot now! We started adding bubbles to the bath and she had a ton of fun hiding her bath toys under the bubbles. Again, she tried to EAT the bubbles! We had fun dressing her up with bubbles and taking pictures. Addie really likes bath time. She says "bah" and watches me fill up the bathtub and squeals in anticipation of getting in. She loves her toys that plop into the water and squirt water at her belly.

Fun at the Playground

It was a gorgeous spring day and we headed to the park near our home. Addie had a ton of fun on the baby swing and playing in the sand. Problem was that she wanted to EAT the sand!!!!

Addie's first "bug"-themed birthday party

This Saturday we went to a birthday party at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC. The theme was "bugs" and Addie had a blast trying to keep up with the older children (7-8 yrs olds), pull herself up to the tables, and play with all of the bug toys. Its really cute to see her with anything that resembles a pillow. She loves to lay her head down on them!

Let's go Duke!

Just in case we are not living near Durham after this summer, we decided to show some Duke spirit and get our pictures taken at the campus.

Some more pictures...

A little bit for me, and a little bit for you

Here is Blue patiently waiting for his turn with Addie's food. She loves to hold the food in her clenched hand and then show it to him. Needless to say, he gets a pretty nice helping since only 20% of the food actually makes it into her mouth. BJ said she eats like Cookie Monster :)

"Oh No"

Addie's new favorite gesture is putting her hands up to her head when you say "Oh, No!!" She only does this when her hands are full of food :)
