Tide pools

So there are only a few tide pools that are preserved in the world.  Two are in San Diego.  My understanding is that when there is a very low tide or negative tide - sea life collects in these natural basins made in the rocks.  They are rich with all sorts of plants, shells, and little critters and perfect for exploration.  We were unable to make it at the appropriate time due to the kid's sleeping schedule - but we still got to see the area.  It was beautiful.
